Hello World Part 2: New Coat of Paint
Hello World Part 2: New Coat of Paint
Welcome to my new security blog! I'm excited to start sharing my knowledge, experiences, and insights in the field of offensive security and ethical hacking. This new site includes my old blog posts detailing my journey into Offensive Security.
My previous blog, i kinda stopped working on while in my role as a Security Consultant, however I am intending to use the newly rewritten website to spark my interest in blogging again. Hopefully the content in this site will be a little bit more technical and interesting to security professionals.
Who Am I?
I'm an offensive security professional with over 4 years of experience in penetration testing, red teaming, and security research. My passion lies in uncovering vulnerabilities, developing exploit techniques, and helping organizations strengthen their defenses. I have some hobbies such as 3d printing and golf. Both challenge me to get better and learn.
Why the Fresh Coat of Paint
So previously I had hosted my blog on Github Pages and it was a great starting point for someone who had a hobbyist interest in computers at best. It was super turnkey to clode a blog template i like and just start writing. As I have grown in my knowledge of offensive security and "tech" in general, i have felt that i wanted my website to reflect that.
Enter my new site...
I am an enjoyer of twitter (or x) and there is a large amount of positive feedback on Next.js and Vercel. I am not an enjoyer of JavaScript, however seeing the enthusiasm for Next, i decided I wanted to learn. I also wanted to experiment with the "serverless" hosting that vercel provides. What better way to improve my JavaScript and TypeScript and my knowledge of vercel than trying to build a site.
After many trials and tribulations and frustrations (so many dependency conflicts, oh so many) I have a working site. I learned a lot about my desired subjects as well as learned how to work with an AI as a coding partner. Much thanks to v0.dev, as i have the worst eye for UI/UX and using v0.dev made my website look much better.
What to Expect
In this blog, you can look forward to:
- Technical deep dives: Detailed explanations of various attack techniques and vulnerabilities.
- Personal Projects: Walking through my thought and development process as i build something cool
- Industry trends: Discussions on the latest developments in the cybersecurity landscape.
- CTF walkthroughs: Step-by-step guides to solving capture the flag challenges.
- Random thoughts and Musings: I will maybe write about my hobbies, idk might be cool
Stay Tuned
I'm thrilled to continue on this journey of sharing knowledge with the security community. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting in the field, I hope you'll find valuable insights here.
Remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Always practice ethical hacking and obtain proper authorization before testing any systems or networks.
Happy hacking!
